French - advanced vocabulary and phrases - Set 1

Set 1 is a large deck of almost 600 advanced items of French vocabulary and French phrases, suitable for higher or post-A-level study.

The normal 'difficulty' levels just split these items into three sets in order to make them more manageable - they are not arranged in order of difficulty. As such you should study all three sets, or some combination.

Because of the complexity of the phrases, you will only be presented with an item of French or English to translate. Sometimes there may be more than one way so this set is not designed to be 'learned rote' like other flashcards, but is more an exercise in passive acquisition. As with all other flash cards in this system, these are affected by the "selection via" option on the parameters. By default, the 'deck' of facts is randomly shuffled every time you run it, but thereafter the facts are selected sequentially. However you might prefer to try a 'group repeat' option, which re-displays the same facts after a delay of 5 or 10 more facts. This idea is based on the 'Forgetting curve.' You can read more about this on the instructions page.
