Flash cards
Flash cards simply present facts as questions and answers. Depending on the type, you may or may not see the question randomly reversed. For example, instead of "What is the capital of Paris?" you might get "Which country is Paris the capital of?" Or, similarly, instead of "What is the French for dog?" you might see "What is the English for le chien?"
This does not apply to fact sets that need very specific question phrases or where it would not make sense to ask the same thing in reverse. For example, the answer to 4 × 10 can only be 40, but working the other way around there could be several different questions that generate the answer 40.
The flash cards are the module type affected by the "selection via" option on the parameters. By default, the 'deck' of facts is randomly shuffled every time you run it, but thereafter the facts are selected sequentially. However you might prefer to try a 'group repeat' option, which re-displays the same facts after a delay of 5 or 10 more facts. This idea is based on the 'Forgetting curve.' You can read more about this on the instructions page.
