Division expressed in English

It turns out there are dozens of ways of stating division in English. Students sometimes find
it challenging to translate the words into actual maths and this module is designed to provide
practice in this respect.


Note that there are several randomised expressions meaning 'equals' as well. Some examples are:

8 divided by 4 would result in ?
12 over 2 would give a result of ?
4 into 20 goes what ?
4 shared between 80 would make ?
5 shared by 20 would equal ?
A quotient of 18 and 9 comes to ?

Difficulty Levels

As with the other modules, the numbers generally get bigger with a higher level of difficulty.
Unlike the addition and subtraction modules, the same English is used for all levels of difficulty.
